Are you ready to embody the antidotes to white supremacy culture? Are you longing for other anti-racist white folks to co-create a resilient, joyful, and creative anti-racist community and culture? Come out to the vibrant midwest, where we are building just that! Especially if you are Jewish, queer, trans, and/or hold another marginalized identity AND you are white, this is a place for us continue to do the learning together from the body up! This in-person, 4-day, interactive course will build your capacity, embodiment, and understanding of yourself as a white organizer/ activist/ coach working inside of liberation movements in the US at this time. Let's move beyond our intellectual frameworks and into a different way of being together!
This course includes:
Learning both individual and small group practices that serve as embodied antidotes to white supremacy ways of being.
Learning and going through a 7 step "Arc of Transformation" process
Learning to recognize our socialized patterns of behavior / nervous system's habitual responses and generate alternatives for ourselves so we can be in more choice under pressure for the sake of interrupting white supremacy patterns and being more easeful, trustworthy, and flexible white people.
Being in community with other anti-racist white folks who are learning together what collective liberation feels like

Prerequisites: There aren't any for this training, though having some experience with body-based practices is useful.

Sliding Scale Fee Structure:
The cost for this course is $750-4,000 siding scale.
30% of funds will be sent to support Black organizing.
In 2022, Dara sent over $50,000 to BOLD- Black Organizing for Dignity and Power.
Facilitator Bio:
Dara Silverman is a white, queer Jewish consultant, somatic coach and trainer with 20 years in with organizations and movements for social, racial, economic and gender justice. Dara partners with trainers of color to lead organizational change and leadership development initiatives centering racial justice, equity and liberation. Dara partners with white trainers to lead caucuses and trainings specifically for white organizers and leaders on dismantling white supremacy in ourselves, organizations and movements. Previously, she was the founding Director of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and the Executive Director of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ) in New York City. She is certified through the International Coaching Federation as a Professional Certified Coach. Dara has been studying Somatics with the Strozzi Institute and Generative Somatics since 2011. Dara became a Somatic Coach in 2013 and has been in the Strozzi Institute Teacher Training since 2017and teaching with them since then. She lives on Wappinger and Lenape land in Beacon, NY where she grows nine kinds of berries.
Dara will be joined by a team of coaches, teachers and bodyworkers who will be supporting participants throughout the course.
Community Song Leader: We are lucky to be joined by a song leader for this course: Lyndsey Scott is an artist and ritual-maker devoted to priestesSing the Heartland, (literal and figurative). She catches and weaves sacred music to empower earth-based spiritual consciousness, and gathers soul circles that use Song and sacred listening to decompose oppressive scripts that get in the way of freely living the Love we are.
