History of St. Louis Yiddish- week 2

  • MaTovu 4200 Blaine Avenue St. Louis, MO, 63110 United States (map)

Yiddish is often thought of as the language of the “old country” conjuring up images of shtetl life in an idealized Eastern Europe of yonder yore. But in the early part of the 20th century a uniquely American Yiddish culture thrived in cities around the US including St. Louis.

Join Russel Neiss as we explore the cultural folkways and expressions of Yiddish speaking Jews in St. Louis in the 20th century.
