Join MaTovu for “Growing Justice” on September 23 as we plant fruit trees with Matt Lebon of Custom Foodscaping and discuss Food Justice with Nickolas Speed of Ujima STL! Vegetarian soup options will be provided cooked by MaTovu’s own Michael Tzinberg!
Matt Lebon graciously donated two fig trees and grapevines to be planted in Matovu’s backyard. Fruit trees and Grapevines are held in a special regard in Judaism and are mentioned several times in the Torah!
Nickolas Speed is the founder of Ujima STL-A non-profit pay-what-you-can service provider that provides equitable access to food, education, and employment. Nickolas will be giving a talk about Food Justice, Food Apparthied Zones and Environmental Racism. Nickolas will also discuss Vermiculture and bring a worm tower for a demonstration!
