The Passover seder tells us that just as our people experienced slavery, and just as we could not free ourselves, we have an obligation to continually fight for freedom. Police abolition is a process of reallocating resources, funding, and responsibility away from police and toward community-based models of safety, support, and prevention. Freedom for abolitionists is a long-term project that requires shifting our emergency response procedures and creating actual safety-creating systems in place, it’s a shift in our mindset accompanied by a shift in our communal actions. Join us in learning, join us in asking “what can we imagine for ourselves and the world?”
All are welcome to join, no prior knowledge of Passover Seder required.
