Mark the week's beginning with Ashreinu, an egalitarian kehilla (community) that gathers for spirited davening (prayer), inspired learning, and Jewish ritual.
Enjoy a tasty seudah shlishit, the third (lighter) meal of Shabbat. Learn and sing some slow, traditional songs about the beauty of Shabbat and our sadness as it draws to a close. We’ll end with Havdalah, the ceremony that separates Shabbat from the rest of the week. No previous experience required!
Saturday, July 27
8:00 pm / Arriving + Greeting + Noshing
8:30 pm / Singing Begins
9:30 pm / Havdalah
We'll provide: vegetarian treats, drinks (alcoholic & non-), B'kol Echad benchers (songbooks), (courtesy of Congregation Bnai Amoona) to facilitate soul-opening seudah shlishit singing, and a havdalah ceremony.
Please bring, as you feel comfortable: a seudah shlishit song to share / a friend or two / a drum / a desire to sing in a collective format. You are also welcome to contribute a beverage or vegetarian treat to our bounty.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, July 24 to shalom@ashreinustl.org with anyone you're bringing + dietary restrictions/allergies + accommodation requests.
Want to brush up on some tunes beforehand? Check out these seudah shlishit song recordings as well. Please reach out if you have any questions.
