From Talmudic sage Elisha ben Abuya to modern Jewish anti-Zionists, some Jews have had difficulty reconciling their Jewishness with other parts of their identity. What can we learn from their "heretical" positions or "outsider" status? Inspired by the writings of Isaac Deutscher and others, this course explores the ideas of these historical radical Jewish thinkers and their potential impact for today.
